Knight Frank LLC enters the Ukrainian real estate market
Knight Frank, the international property consultancy which specialises in offering a full spectrum of consulting and agency services in the field of commercial and elite residential real estate in Russia is proud to announce the opening of its first office in Kiev (Ukraine).
Knight Frank’s Ukrainian office opened in November 2006. Knight Frank specialists will offer consulting and agency services in the field of office and retail real estate and also management services for these properties. The key principle of the work of Knight Frank’s Ukrainian office is to provide a full spectrum of service in the field of high class real estate meeting international quality standards.
In the words of Roman Burtsev, partner in the Moscow office, the company intends to focus in the future on developing plans for major sites with the emphasis on multifunctional projects with subsequent brokering and management of the properties.
“At the first stage, we plan to develop the consulting and brokering of high class real estate and provide valuation services of these projects and to research the commercial and residential real estate markets in Ukraine. The separate specific focus of our activity will be the marketing and promotion of office and warehouse complexes as well as elite real estate projects” said Yaroslav Chapko the general director of the Ukraine office.
Today, Knight Frank is the only international consultant in elite residential real estate in Ukraine. This area will become more and more sought after in the Ukrainian market. Knight Frank’s high quality of services and its many years of experience in this segment allow it to achieve international standards of work with such projects.
Knight Frank has unique experience working on development projects for large plots of land (larger that 1000 hectares). One of the most successful examples of collaboration between international consultants and developers who have realised large scale projects is the Bolshoi Citi development situated in the centre of Moscow for which the Moscow office of Knight Frank is acting as consultant.
Knight Frank’s first major project in Ukraine was the MLP-Chaika logistics park belonging to Multinational Logistics Partnership (MLP). The future complex is situated in the immediate vicinity of the Kiev-Lvov international transport route on which up to 30% of Kiev’s freight travels. The total area of the project is 100 thousand square metres. The volume of investment in the MLP-Chaika project is approximately $78 million.
The high rate of growth of the logistics real estate market and the growing demands of major developing and investing companies working in Russia and abroad as international consultant in Ukraine are the principal reasons why Knight Frank has decided to open an office in Ukraine.

The Ukraine real estate market is one of the highest potential and most attractive from the point of view of the business’ growth. As it is comparatively young, from one point of view it partially repeats the scenario of the Moscow market’s development, from the other it has a high potential for quick and dynamic growth in the next few years. Western and Russian companies, focused on quick and dynamic growth are trying not to overlook this niche.
Andrei Zakrevsky, vice-president of Knight Frank
Right now, in Ukraine you can see a major shortage of high-quality space in all segments of the real estate market. The current demand is stimulating the appearance of modern office, retail and warehouse projects which may experience demand not only from local but also from international companies interested in being a part of Ukraine’s growing market. For such projects to be successfully completed knowledge and experience are necessary which international consultants with technological and high-class specialists possess.
